Rossi: Pandev deserves better

Posted by the phenomenon

Former Lazio manager Delio Rossi believes Goran Pandev's success means he deserves to leave Lazio for a bigger club.

The 25-year-old Macedonian has been constantly linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer, with Sicilian club Palermo looking to be his most likely destination.

Rossi is not convinced that the move would benefit the striker though, instead suggesting that Pandev should hold out until a big club comes calling.

"Pandev has become a great player who deserves to be at a top club," said Rossi.
"Palermo is an important club and he will think about it, but maybe he has different targets. After all I believe the Rosaneri count more or less like the Biancocelesti and Pandev should be looking for something different."
Lazio have already made it clear that they are willing to offload the player, but will only do so if their £12 million price tag is met.

Juventus have reportedly been offered the player, but are currently not interested in making a bid.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is keen to get the ball rolling in Pandev's case, as he is looking to us the funds from his sale to strengthen his side and improve on their 10th place finish in the Serie A last season.
